About the Role

The Oral Health Improvement Service is a commissioned service within the Dental Division of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The purpose of the Oral Health Improvement Team is to deliver evidence-based oral health interventions to reduce inequalities in oral health, working across organisational boundaries within Birmingham ICS.

Main Responsibilities

You will be expected to work within a team to contribute to the planning of oral health improvement interventions, the delivery of workforce development training, supervised toothbrushing programmes, Mouth Care Matters programmes, management of targeted toothbrushing resources and other evidence-based interventions and evaluation across Birmingham.

Requirements

  • General Dental Council registration.
  • Certificate of the Examining Board of Dental Nurses (or equivalent).
  • Certificate in Oral Health Promotion (or equivalent Diploma/BTEC Level 4 professional qualification).
  • A Diploma or BSc in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Award in Education and Training (or equivalent Diploma/BTEC Level 3).
  • Relevant experience of planning and delivering oral health improvement programmes, training and events.
  • Relevant experience of managing own workload and working to tight timescales.
  • Relevant experience of team working.
