Nuclear Project Engineer Position

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Project Engineer to join our team at the National Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will play a vital role in delivering projects from initial specification through to delivery of an operational asset.
As a Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical), you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient commissioning of plant and equipment. This includes conducting performance and safety testing, documenting results, and collaborating with colleagues to identify opportunities for improvement.

Main Responsibilities
- Conduct commissioning performance and safety testing, and document results accurately.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop novel engineering solutions that meet project requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with nuclear site licence conditions.
- Provide commissioning expertise to design and safety case processes.
- Document lifetime records and ensure accurate documentation of plant and equipment.
Requirements
- Time-served indentured Mechanical/Process Apprenticeship.
- Minimum ONC or equivalent qualification in mechanical or Process Engineering.
- Demonstrable experience in the nuclear industry as a Mechanical Engineer.
- Familiarity with MS Office applications and ability to produce high-quality reports.
- Ability to fault-find on systems, plant, and equipment.
- Comprehensive understanding of safe working within a nuclear environment.
