About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Worker to join our team at Turning Point. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering a community-based, psychologically informed programme of support to individuals with a Personality Disorder.

Working alongside a clinically informed team with oversight from a dedicated Clinical Psychologist, you will provide formalised peer support and practical assistance to service users, helping them to regain control of their lives and develop their own unique skill set.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a blended approach of face-to-face support and accessible digital technology, both in group and 1-1 settings.
  • Use elements of evidence-based psychological interventions such as DBT, trauma-informed practice, and relapse prevention skills to form the base of interventions and support.
  • Work with a small caseload of clients, managing and reviewing client risk levels, and liaising with clients' mental health teams.
  • Facilitate group work and independently support individuals on a 1-1 basis.
Requirements

We are looking for a patient, non-judgmental individual who is able to use their own experience and journey of recovery to support our service user group in a compassionate and respectful way. You will have an understanding of Personality Disorder and experience in providing face-to-face support, as well as delivering small group sessions to a diverse population of individuals.

You will be confident in managing a small caseload, have a firm grasp of Recovery Principles, and be willing to complete your Accredited Peer Support Training. Team working is essential, and you will be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and service users.
