About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Category Manager to join our Procurement team at Aviva. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing our indirect Third Party spend, working closely with business stakeholders to shape their requirements and ensure fit-for-purpose products and services are sourced under an appropriate contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maximise value through the end-to-end commercial management of Aviva's key suppliers and associated third party spend.
  • Drive performance and commercial benefit from the supply chain, meeting agreed commercial targets for the category.
  • Manage all relevant category or sub-category spend, including outsourcing projects that support and drive the group strategy.
  • Apply commercial, supplier relationship management, risk management and category management skills, tools and techniques to drive value for money and performance.
  • Align Procurement strategies to business plans, working closely with business colleagues to create fit-for-purpose contracts and supply relationships.
Requirements
  • Commercial and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of building strong internal business and supplier relationships.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of optimising strategy and delivering Commercial, SRM, or Category Management within a demanding, fast-evolving environment.
  • Contracting experience, comfortable managing sourcing processes and developing and negotiating agreements in accordance with appropriate governance.
  • CIPS qualification or equivalent, preferably with a degree in a related field.
  • Change management expertise and a knowledge of People and Professional Services or Financial Services, desirable.

  • A competitive salary between £60,000 - £70,000, dependent on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
  • A bonus opportunity of 12% of annual salary, dependent on performance and Aviva's results.
