Chepstow, Monmouthshire, United Kingdom RPS Group Full time
Summer Placement Opportunity in Offshore Wind

Kick start your career with a Summer Internship or Industry Placement in Tetra Tech RPS Energy with a flexible start date between April - July 2025. Our Marine Consenting and Environment (MC&E) team is on the lookout for two students to join us for 8 - 12 weeks. We operate a hybrid working arrangement and you can be based in Chepstow, Edinburgh or Woking at least 3 days per week.

We are at the forefront of the industry - delivering offshore infrastructure projects in complex marine environments including offshore wind farm developments. Our experience includes 20 years working across the UK, wider Europe, Americas, Australia and Asia. You'll become a member of a deeply experienced marine consenting and environment team who have been selected as the lead Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA) consultant for some of the industry's major "firsts". These include the world's largest offshore wind farms at the point of being constructed: Orsted's Hornsea One, Two and Three, and Scotland's largest offshore wind farm SSE's Berwick Bank.

A bit about your role:

  • During your 8 - 12 week placement, you will select a research project relevant to our work and asked to present this back to the business at the end of your placement. You will run this how one of our marine projects should be run, learning how to budget, cost, programme and put together terms of reference with the support of our experienced staff in the team.
  • You will sit in on team meetings to get experience of working in consultancy, get exposure to our varied project portfolio and start to understand how a marine business works.

This could be a great role for someone who has an industry placement as part of their Bachelors or Masters degree or someone who wants to gain some work experience before entering into a graduate role. By the end of your placement you should be able to make a more informed decision about your career path.

What do you need?

  • On track to complete a Bachelors or Masters degrees in a relevant marine discipline
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity to apply your skills to solve real-world problems
  • Empathy and listening skills to help you truly understand our clients' requirements
  • You must have a permanent right to work in the UK
  • You must be available for at least 8 weeks starting at some point from April - July 2025.
