Job Overview:

D R Newitt & Associates seeks a skilled Plant Maintenance Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the maintenance operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and efficiency of plant equipment.


Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct planned maintenance inspections to review frequencies and parts used, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-effective solutions.
  2. Develop and recommend maintenance schedules, adhering to industry best practices and legislative requirements.
  3. Perform overhauls and repairs of plant equipment, monitoring conditions and reporting defects in a timely manner.
  4. Process store requisitions for parts and contract services, ensuring seamless supply chain management.
  5. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations into breakdowns and process failures, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and risk assessments, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
  7. Utilize company systems to report plant performance, communicating non-conformance issues and driving corrective actions.
  8. Effectively communicate operational information to colleagues and shift teams, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
  9. Provide support to site services as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Requirements:
  • A strong background in mechanical engineering or a related field, ideally from the manufacturing sector.
  • Proven experience in plant maintenance, with a focus on reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles.
  • Proficiency in PLC automation, although not essential, would be an advantage.
  • Candidates should possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a drive to deliver high-quality results.

Estimated Salary Range: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
