Team Manager

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Team Manager in our Learning Disabilities department. As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for providing support to the people we support and our staffing teams within the service.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of learning disabilities and be able to go the extra mile to provide a high-quality service. You will receive full support from our Service Manager to ensure your success in this role.
The Role
As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the selection and induction of new staff, taking into consideration the wishes of the people we support.
- Inducting, mentoring, and supporting new staff into post.
- Leading and motivating staff.
- Contributing to and developing staff teams, including regular team meetings, supervisions, and appraisals.
- Addressing areas of poor performance, liaising with service manager.
- Providing information as directed by senior management and attending meetings as requested by the Service Manager.
Support for Clients
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the staff team to monitor the people we support's mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing, ensuring that appropriate action is taken when necessary.
- Ensuring the people we support are at the centre of their support plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans and that these are reviewed regularly.
- Ensuring every person we support has a person-centred plan and health file which is reviewed regularly.
- Ensuring the safeguarding procedures are embedded in all staff, to facilitate the protection and safety of the people we support, and ensure staff have competencies and appropriate training.
- Working in positive partnerships to enhance the health and lifestyle of the people we support.
- Reporting and recording incidents and accidents, passing information to senior management.
- Ensuring that the human rights of the people we support are respected.
- Where appropriate, ensuring Mental Capacity Assessments are carried out.
Quality
You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all records are kept up to date, and in line with company policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with CCG, local authority, and other contracts, and CQC regulations.
- Investigating complaints and reporting to senior management in an appropriate manner.
- Supporting senior managers by making the best use of resources and working flexibly and creatively.
- Attending meetings with family, friends, and other professionals as required.
- Assisting in the office with admin duties when required.
- Ensuring that staff contracted hours are correct, and timesheets are checked and submitted to the office in a timely manner.
- To resolve conflicts that may occur.
Training and Development
You will be responsible for:
- Demonstrating a commitment to personal development.
- Attending and participating in the health and social care worker training programme, both in-house and external to achieve the specified level of competency.
- Preparing for, attending, and participating in regular supervision and appraisal meetings with the management team.
Other Duties
You will be responsible for:
- Delivering a high-quality service without discrimination based on a person's race, disability, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other aspect of a person's background, and in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
