Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading medical teams, and contributing to the development of our Paediatric Emergency Department.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, with experience in working in a fast-paced emergency department environment. You will be responsible for overseeing the care of ill and injured children, delivering consultant ward rounds, and leading medical resuscitations. Additionally, you will be expected to provide educational and clinical supervision to trainees, deliver regular teaching sessions, and support research and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality patient care to children and young people in the Paediatric Emergency Department
- Lead medical teams and contribute to the development of the department
- Provide educational and clinical supervision to trainees
- Deliver regular teaching sessions and support research and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Paediatric EM Sub-speciality Training or equivalent experience
- CCST or CCT in Paediatrics /Emergency Medicine or eligible for above within 6 months of appointment
