As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective SHE management processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review and implement SHE management processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Liaise and coordinate with ETC SHE Managers to implement Group initiatives and ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and deliver the annual SHE strategic plan, aligning with the company's overall objectives and goals.
  • Prepare and present regular SHE updates to the Management Team and MTM & ECF meetings, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Review and maintain Safety Instructions, Safety Work Instructions and Risk Assessments to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Review and approve Contractor Risk Assessments / Method Statements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage, monitor and update Dosimetry and Radiation requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all SHE incidents are reported, investigated and lessons learnt effectively adopted and shared, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Deliver SHE activities, including:
    • Maintaining legislative regulatory Licences.
    • Providing Safety training and inductions to employees.
    • Coordinating the quarterly SHERC meetings.
    • Coordinating the Safety Stop of Work event.
    • Promoting and delivering 5S initiatives.
  • Manage, monitor and update TopDesk, providing management data and charts to inform decision-making.
  • Identify, appoint and arrange appropriate training for employees to perform specific roles as required by the SHE management systems.
  • Act as a focal point for all internal and external personnel and agencies relating to SHE, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain and manage compliance with the Environmental Agency ESOS Assessment process, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain SHE intranet pages, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
    • Coordinate Weekly/Monthly Testing, Building Log Book & DSE Assessments.
    • Liaise with FM providers and Site Tenants.
    • Raise FM Job Cards & escorting contractors when work is carried out.
    • Manage the U6 Building and Infrastructure Maintenance Process and plan.
    • Manage the U6 Building checks and testing to include the Fire Alarm / Annual Muster / Lone Worker Equipment / Defib & FA Kits.
  • DV security clearance is required in order to undertake the role.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working at a similar level in a medium size company.
  • Good secondary education to at least A Level.
  • Safety Qualification – NEBOSH National General Certificate with opportunity to further develop.
  • Experience of working within a regulated and documented safety management system.
  • Sustainability & Environment advocate.
  • Effective project management, planning and organisation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and data capture systems.
  • Forward thinking and confident in identifying and implementing change.
  • Performance driven.
  • Effective communication & influencing skills.
