Autism Support Practitioner

As an Adult Support Worker at our Educational Centre, you will play a vital role in supporting autistic learners aged 18 and above. Your primary duties will include:
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality support, care, and instruction to autistic adult learners, focusing on their well-being, autonomy, and social integration.
- Implement behaviour-driven teaching methodologies and interventions to promote positive outcomes and growth, working collaboratively with individuals and small groups.
- Facilitate the application of learned skills in real-world contexts, both within our Centre for Lifelong Learning and in the community.
Key Skills and Qualities:
- Experience working with adults or young people with disabilities or autism spectrum disorders.
- Ability to design, prepare, and conduct lessons and activities that facilitate skill and knowledge acquisition, adapting to individual needs.
- Effective communication, de-escalation techniques, and empathy in high-pressure situations.
- Capacity to maintain composure and provide comprehensive support, care, and instruction to learners with autism.

Requirements:
