Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineers to understand and interpret design specifications and requirements.
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings and plans for scientific instrumentation and precision components using CAD software.
  • Ensure compliance with specified dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications in the creation of drawings through the application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Review and modify existing drawings and assist in the development of new design concepts.
  • Provide support in the prototyping and testing phases of product development.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to guarantee that drawings accurately convey the necessary information for production.
  • Assist with the documentation of design processes, including revisions and updates to technical manuals.
  • Ensure that all drafted designs meet industry standards and product specifications.
  • Work closely with other team members to resolve design issues and incorporate feedback into draft revisions.
  • Maintain an organized library of updated drawings and project documentation.
Requirements
  • Degree or certification in drafting, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Draughtsman, preferably in a precise or highly regulated industry.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD software and familiarity with engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of GD&T, along with an understanding of engineering materials and finishes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce precise and accurate drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to think critically.
  • Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience drafting for electro-mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with standards and quality assurance protocols for scientific instrumentation.
