Job DescriptionThis is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong engineering skills and a passion for problem-solving. As an Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support across our Packaging and Distribution sites.
Your primary duties will include:
- Receiving and responding to requests for assistance, investigating issues, and identifying solutions or next best steps;
- Recording changes made to processes or reasons for repair using established methods;
- Arranging investigations or resolutions by other engineers or external contractors when necessary;
- Identifying suitable suppliers for non-stock replacement parts and confirming specifications and availability;
- Logging onto the CVM system each day to identify planned maintenance tasks, accessing relevant MP files, and completing required procedures;
- Providing training to operators to enable them to perform routine basic maintenance activities safely and effectively;
- Monitoring ongoing production activity to ensure safety guards, interlocks, and fixtures are in place and functioning correctly;
- Providing specialist knowledge and application through engineering support for project and production engineering teams during new and existing project design phases;
- Identifying and advising on equipment issues that represent health and safety or product/personnel risks.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- An engineering apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering;
- Experience in service engineering or precision engineering (e.g., toolmaking or instrument engineering);
- Maths/English GCSE A to C Grade;
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a regulated or FMCG/high-speed packaging industry.
