Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Triumph Consultants Ltd. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing precision equipment for large-scale scientific instruments.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using Solid Edge CAD software
- Collaborate with fellow Design Engineers and Scientists to ensure designs meet project requirements
- Produce detail drawings to BS 8888 and ensure geometric tolerancing (GD&T) is applied correctly
- Verify designs using basic assembly tolerancing
- Experience in mechanical assembly/component design from concept level
- Strong background in designing bespoke, precision equipment
- Proficiency in Solid Edge (or equivalent) 3D CAD software
- Competent in producing detail drawings to BS 8888
- Strong understanding of geometric tolerancing (GD&T) for precision machined components
- Knowledge of industrial standards and regulations
- Experience using stress and lifting hand calculations for design analysis
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
- Past practical experience in the manufacture and assembly of parts
- Comprehensive understanding of materials, fabrication, and manufacturing as well as designing for manufacture
