Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Supervisor/Chargehand to join our team at Stagecoach Blairgowrie Depot. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our workshop and providing exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the daily running of the depot and all engineering staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Carry out repairs and diagnosis on vehicles as required, using your technical expertise to resolve complex issues.
  • Comply with all health and safety legislation and Stagecoach policies, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Guide and support other staff members as needed, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Allocate planned and unplanned work to engineering staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Manage labour over time, ensuring that all staff are utilized efficiently and effectively.
  • Update the engineering vehicle status board and daily garage log to reflect any changes or updates.
  • Liaise with the operations department to minimize lost mileage and ensure that all vehicles are running smoothly.
  • Manage vehicle cleaning, fuelling, oil checks, and parking, ensuring that all vehicles are maintained to a high standard.
  • Process vehicle defect cards in line with engineering standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent in a relevant Vehicle Repair subject.
  • Full conversance with the safe operation of workshop equipment.
  • Full PCV license.
