Job Overview
Venus Recruitment Partners, a leading specialist in recruitment services, seeks an experienced Department Engineer to join their team at the Stocksbridge facility. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and ambitious professional to take on a leadership position, overseeing engineering operations and driving continuous improvement within a dynamic and innovative environment.

This is a competitive salary circa £57,000 per annum, plus benefits including 35 days of holiday, private medical insurance, and a generous pension scheme.

About the Role
The successful candidate will lead and develop a team of skilled engineers and craftsmen, ensuring the effective maintenance and improvement of all assets, services, and infrastructure within their department. Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading, mentoring, and coaching a dynamic engineering team to foster talent development and future leadership.
  • Managing the engineering budget to drive cost-efficiency while maintaining high standards.
  • Collaborating with the Plant Manager to determine asset strategies and implement improvement plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should have relevant engineering qualifications (HNC or higher) with at least 5 years' experience in a supervisory or technical role. Essential criteria include extensive plant engineering experience, knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation, and proficiency in using CMMS and MS Office.
