Role Overview:

The role of Lead Process Engineer and Technical Authority at Yorkshire Water involves providing strategic leadership and technical expertise to ensure the safe and efficient operation of process engineering assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations, and defining policies and procedures to drive best practice.

About the Role:

This is a key position within the organization, requiring a Chartered Engineer with extensive experience in leading teams and managing complex engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets and have experience of managing budgets and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on process safety management
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with process engineering assets
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams to deliver business objectives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize business needs

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer with membership of a UK engineering institute
  • Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Proven experience of leading teams and managing complex engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of process safety management principles
  • Experience of managing budgets and resources
  • A working understanding of COMAH, DSEAR & COSHH regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
