A well-established regional Civil and Ground Engineering contractor seeks a Health & Safety Manager to join their busy operation on a permanent basis.

Job Summary

This role involves maintaining Health, Safety & Environmental compliance as a culture across the business. Key responsibilities include devising safety inductions, briefings, and de-briefs, conducting safety audits, performing safety inspections & monitoring, providing staff training, managing near miss reporting, and overseeing subcontractor review management.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Minimum of Graduate IOSH membership
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or higher
  • 2 years in a health and safety management role in a construction environment
  • Working understanding of Health & Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations, HSG65, and risk assessment principles
  • Strong organisational skills, able to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Target setting and achievement
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong report-writing abilities
  • CSCS card (relevant to position)
  • Auditing qualifications (desirable)

Remuneration

The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately £55,000-£70,000, depending on experience.
