Highly Skilled Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced obstetrics and gynaecology specialist to join our team at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.
About the RoleThis role will involve promoting in-house delivery suite/obstetrics and gynaecology training, as well as clinical and managerial responsibility for further developing services within our dedicated antenatal or gynaecology clinics. You will work closely with adult medical specialties and be responsible for maintaining 98 hours consultant presence on the delivery suite.
The job plan is full-time, 10PA/wk, including one 12 hour dayshift on Delivery Suite + non-resident on call alternate week for either Obstetrics or Gynaecology and regular Fri/weekend on call work (1:8 wks).
Key Responsibilities- Promoting in-house delivery suite/obstetrics and gynaecology training
- Clinical and managerial responsibility for developing services within dedicated antenatal or gynaecology clinics
- Maintaining 98 hours consultant presence on the delivery suite
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Entry on the Specialist Register in Obstetrics & Gynaecologyor working towards this
- MRCOG or equivalent
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining CCT in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the management of acute medical emergencies
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the care of patients
