Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled System Safety Specialist Manager to join our team for a challenging rail project.

The role will involve managing the implementation of CSM-RA across the project life cycle, developing and maintaining the system safety management plan, and ensuring its implementation with subcontractors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the production and ongoing maintenance of the SSMP, SD, SSSR and hazard record in accordance with client and stakeholder requirements.
  • Coordinate the Designer's system safety team.
  • Ensure System Safety deliverables from subcontractors meet project requirements.
  • Manage the system safety interface between ourselves and the client, coordinating meetings and ensuring actions are implemented.
  • Lead reviews of Designer and subcontractor System Safety deliverables, including Work Package plans and specific submissions.
  • Manage scheduling of System Safety deliverables activities.
  • Develop construction sequences and methodologies to ensure system safety.
  • Review ITPs for safety.
  • Implement and collate compliance with TSI requirements.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer and membership of a relevant professional institution or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of System Safety in relation to Rail Infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in applying the Common Safety Method (CSM) for risk evaluation and assessment within the UK rail industry.
