Job Title: Apprentice - Level 3 in Engineering and Manufacturing

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Apprentice - Level 3 in Engineering and Manufacturing to join our team at Manpower Group (UK). As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing complex products from quotation to launch, managing multiple suppliers of tooling and capital, and ensuring time and cost targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Develop comprehensive timing plans in line with customer milestones and ensure products, processes, and materials are safe and complete health and safety documents as required.
  • Supply Chain Management: Manage multiple suppliers of tooling and capital, ensuring timing and cost targets are met.
  • Equipment Installation: Manage equipment installation and contractors.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Design and Development: Support product design in the development of components, ensuring best-in-class design for manufacture.
  • Cost Estimation: Produce workbooks to generate accurate cost estimates to support commercial activities.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree qualified in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience: Significant experience in a relevant role within a 1st tier automotive supplier, preferably within a just-in-time environment.
  • Skills: Knowledge of headliner manufacturing and assembly, exposure to manufacturing lines highly reliant on IT systems, and experience of Six Sigma / Lean manufacturing processes.
