Senior Children's Support Worker Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and committed individual to join our team as a Senior Children's Support Worker / Team Leader within a well-established Children's Residential service in Port Talbot.

About the Role

As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting young people between the ages of 8-18 years old with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in a trauma-informed, outcome-focused care environment across 5 homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support young people in their daily lives, encouraging them to take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
  • Manage staff teams, budgets, and ensure the quality of services provided meets expected care standards.
  • Maintain a homely, friendly culture and environment in the homes.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Support children and young people in promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Ensure the safety of young people and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred methods of communication.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker / Team Leader within a similar social care setting or with Young People.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent.
  • Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role you may be required to transport young people.
  • Children's Homes Regulations and Safeguarding Knowledge.
