Job Title: Senior Children's Support Worker

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team in Port Talbot. As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a trauma-informed care environment.

Job Summary:
  • Support young people aged 8-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a residential care setting.
  • Work collaboratively with the management team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care services.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
  • Organise and participate in activities and holidays, ensuring risk assessments are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the manager and team in all aspects of day-to-day operations, including managing staff teams and budgets.
  • Encourage young people to take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed, while prioritising the safety and well-being of the young people.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Support the children and young people in the home, promoting their independence and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or Team Leader in a similar social care setting.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent.
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role, you may be required to transport the young people.
  • Children's Homes Regulations and Safeguarding Knowledge.
