The position involves supporting the procurement team in a dynamic retail environment.

Role Overview

The focus of this role is to prioritize customer needs in the product selection process, ensuring the development and delivery of a commercially viable and profitable product range that enhances sales potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the manual setup of product spreadsheets in Excel.
  • Collaborate with the offshore team to guarantee timely and accurate product setup in alignment with brand guidelines, with assistance from the designated Assistant Buyer.
  • Coordinate with the online team to obtain necessary imagery, supported by the relevant Assistant Buyer.
  • Comprehend product tiering (Good, Better, Best) and ensure accurate pricing is recorded in our systems.
  • Assist in preparing Sign Off Packs and Trading Packs for future international sales events.
  • Manage and coordinate sample requests for various events and approvals.
  • Ensure system and label accuracy in preparation for international sales events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including brands and the online team.
  • Facilitate the setup of additional product lines and expedite processes to ensure timely launches.
  • Utilize relevant IT systems and software to effectively manage critical path elements.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for products by staying informed about competitors and providing structured feedback to the team.
  • Lead critical path meetings, addressing issues and proposing solutions.
  • Contribute to the selection process and the successful delivery of new product ranges.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience in procurement with a major retailer or within a retail head office setting.
  • A strong passion for products and a commitment to understanding the brand and customer needs.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of anticipating and managing challenges while prioritizing effectively.
  • Proficiency in systems or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Strong communication skills, effectively conveying information through various channels.
  • Knowledge of or a strong desire to learn about the complete procurement process, with a focus on Critical Path Management.
