About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Software Development Lead to spearhead our code team's efforts in developing and maintaining game features, systems, and tools for innovative VR games.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate cross-discipline in a fun and inclusive environment, sharing ideas and expertise while maintaining a broader understanding of our products.

The Software Development Lead is responsible for overseeing the architecture and maintenance of significant areas of our codebase. They work closely with the Technical Director to direct, manage, and mentor the code team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a code team, managing projects or substantial parts of one, depending on project needs.
  • Design and implement runtime systems, game features, or tools.
  • Debug and resolve issues with game functionality.
  • Optimise game systems for performance on diverse platforms.
  • Rapid prototyping to quickly realise and iterate on game concepts.

Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Advanced knowledge of C++ including high-performance programming.
  • 3D maths, algorithms, and data structures knowledge.
  • Able to plan and create high-level estimates for the code team for an entire project and identify risks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical people.
  • Aptitude for providing feedback, noting potential issues, and mentoring junior coders.
  • Performance-minded development and optimisation skills.
