We are seeking an Electrical Contract Engineer to join our team at MWH Treatment. This role will be based at Oswestry WTW with hybrid working available.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Lead Electrical Engineer and will be responsible for coordinating an effective and economic plant design and procurement strategy. They will ensure that information is issued in time to enable construction, commissioning, and putting to work in line with the Contract Programme. The Electrical Contract Engineer will also provide cost data for forecasts and evaluation of variations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring project costs do not exceed tender/varied allowance
  • Ensuring all applications for payment are made on or before the due date
  • Ensuring contract reviews, monthly forecasts are completed and submitted on time
  • Maintaining good client relationships at all levels
  • Assisting with the Project Management strategy
  • Establishing and maintaining the contract filing systems
  • Assisting in the production of the contract programme; monitoring programme and producing progress reports
  • Providing data for the timely production of O&M manuals
  • Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Liaising with site management on design and procurement issues
  • Monitoring subcontract performance
  • Assisting in the preparation of the construction completion and take over documentation
  • Ensuring continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
  • Maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
  • Undertaking such other duties, training, and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role
  • In all internal and external contact, presenting a professional and positive image of the department and MWH Treatment, as well as maintaining mutually constructive, positive, and beneficial relationships.
  • Taking all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality
  • Working closely with design departments to ensure timely progressing of quality solutions
  • Evaluating innovative solutions and processes
  • Contributing to risk and opportunity schedules on a monthly basis
  • Ensuring designs are developed which are safe to construct, commission, operate, and maintain
  • Completing the capitalisation process
