About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Dental Officer to join our Special Care/Paediatric Dental Service. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical care to adult and paediatric patients with additional needs, medical status, or complexity of care that prevent them from accessing care within the General Dental Service.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality oral health care for children and adults with special needs, including treatment under general anaesthetic and conscious sedation.

Lead and manage a team of dental officers and dental therapists, ensuring consistent, high-quality clinical care is provided.

Participate in clinical governance, recruitment, and selection of dentists and dental care professionals.

Requirements

Full GDC registration and Performer Number.

Postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical subject.

Wide experience of working in a special care setting, clinical experience in treating adults and children with additional needs, and clinical experience in the use of conscious sedation.

Proven leadership experience and ability to participate in the provision of treatment under general anaesthetic and domiciliary care as part of the senior leadership team.
