Job Summary

Premea is seeking a highly skilled Lead Project Engineer to join our team in the Motorcycle Accessories division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative motorcycle components and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new and updated motorcycle accessory projects, considering function, cost, manufacture, assembly, and quality.
  • Produce high-quality 3D CAD models using CREO software and 2D engineering drawings in compliance with ASME Y and client standards.
  • Follow and maintain design, operational, and quality procedures.
  • Produce supporting documentation for designs, including Tolerance Stacks, Bolted Joint Calculations, Tooling Access, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) considerations.
  • Liaise with internal departments, such as Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Assembly, as well as external departments, including Product Development, Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), and Test Teams.
  • Liaise with outside suppliers and design components and systems to comply with regulatory requirements where needed.
  • Have a good understanding of the application of regulatory requirements for motorcycles.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably Proengineer/CREO.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design of components and subassemblies.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, such as castings, forgings, sheet metal, and injection moldings.
  • Experience of creating and releasing 2D technical drawings to ASME Y.
  • Understanding of geometric tolerances on 2D drawings, to ASME Y.
  • Good understanding of motorcycle chassis layout and construction.
  • Practical experience of vehicle maintenance and preparation is advantageous.
  • Some experience in designing to regulatory requirements as applied to motorcycles.
  • Experience in taking designs from concept to volume production.
  • Experience supporting and mentoring junior team members.
