About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust as a key member of the Transformation & Improvement Directorate. As the Head of Planning and Strategy, you will play a crucial role in leading the Planning team and contributing to the development of the trust's strategic plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Annual Planning: You will be responsible for the production of the trust's annual plan, ensuring that it aligns with North Central London Integrated Care System and NHS England guidance. This will involve managing the relationship with the Finance and People teams, as well as other Corporate Departments, to develop the specific annual planning requirements.
  • Strategic Planning: You will support the development of the internal business case process and manage the internal business case process, including the Business Case Advisory Panel.
  • Leadership and Management: You will have direct line management responsibilities, including responsibility for sickness, disciplinary, recruitment, and performance management.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with a postgraduate degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) and evidence of continuing professional development. You will have experience of working with external advisers and be able to establish effective relationships with senior doctors, academics, accountants, workforce, and information specialists.

You will also have developed IT skills and a detailed understanding of NHS and key policy issues. Additionally, you will have a diplomatic style, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to meet executives' demands.
