About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Language Facilitator to join our team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. As a vital member of our Interpretation and Translation Service, you will play a key role in providing high-quality language support to patients and healthcare professionals across our hospital sites and community settings.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpreting skills, strong communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the healthcare sector. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide confidential, efficient, and effective language support services to patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and supporting evidence of telephone/video interpretation provided using the Zipporah Interpreter Booking System.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, patients, and other agencies to achieve the objectives and purpose of your role.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualifications in Interpreting or a related field (e.g., Community Interpreting level 2 plus).
  • DPSI Qualification or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of interpreting experience preferably in healthcare.
  • Ability to travel across sites as part of service need.
  • Own transport and valid driver's license.
