About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team in Kempston, Bedford. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material take off's from fabrication drawings, site GA's, valve & instrument schedules and standard specifications.
  • Responsible for tendering packages, obtaining quotation and raising Purchase Orders for items with suppliers as for project expenditure as required by Project Managers.
  • To visit sites as required to assess job requirements.
  • Assist Project Managers in preparation of H&S documentation including but not limited to the following: Risk Assessments / Method Statements, Construction Phase Plans, Traffic Management Plans, Site H&S files, Permits to Work, HASWA compliance, CDM compliance.
  • Ensuring all project records are up to date and available within project files.
  • Following up the order status for delivering material to the site to support the production schedule, manufacturing lead times and site activities.
  • Developing a detailed working knowledge of all standard products.
  • Support commercial manager with forecasting and contract administration.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required
Requirements
  • At least 2 years' experience in a mechanical engineering / workshop environment.
  • Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, site GA's, valve & instrument schedules and standard specifications.
  • Strong negotiation skills and strategic approach in managing and local suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients and suppliers.
  • Ability to work independently, display initiative and solve problems with proficiency
