Job Summary

The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a highly skilled Finance Project Lead to join their team. As a key member of the project team, you will partner with external suppliers to implement a new finance system, ensuring successful delivery within agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate workshops to document requirements and configurations, ensuring seamless system implementation.
  • Plan and manage the migration of historical data from the old system to the new system, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Implement new processes and controls to support the finance system, ensuring full documentation and compliance.
  • Oversee the integration of the solution within the existing systems architecture, working closely with relevant systems experts.
  • Ensure all security controls are in place, providing users with necessary access based on their roles and departments.
  • Provide training and support to users of the new system, including writing training notes and guides.
  • Produce standard and bespoke reports as required, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Manage Finance staff, allocating work, monitoring progress, and resolving performance issues.
  • Provide mentoring, support, and guidance through the Personal Development Review process, ensuring staff receive necessary training and development.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience working in an accountancy environment.
  • AAT qualified or equivalent.
  • Experience in administering computerized financial systems.
  • Able to handle a varied workload within set deadlines.
  • Ability to manage complex issues and have sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate with probity, adhering to legislative regulations relating to financial matters.
