About the Role

As a seasoned clinical nurse specialist, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of skilled professionals in the field of inherited cardiac conditions. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert clinical leadership and management to the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients across South East London.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at Kings College Hospital, where you will be responsible for developing new areas of practice with nursing and consultant staff to ensure quality standards are met. You will also have the chance to contribute to the development of nursing practice within the team and work closely with genetic counsellors to ensure a knowledgeable and skilled nursing team.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing teams, developing policies and protocols, and providing direction for services. They will also have experience of working within cardiac genetics and running own clinics, as well as demonstrable expertise of knowledge in relation to inherited cardiac conditions.

We offer a competitive salary of £61,927 - £68,676 per annum, including HCA. This role provides opportunities for professional growth and development, and we encourage applications from motivated and ambitious individuals who are passionate about delivering excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • To act as an autonomous practitioner for clinical decision making, complex patient management, assessment and treatment for patients.
  • To provide a Trust wide service that offers advice and support for all patients who require cardiac pedigree tracing, family support and the organising of genetic testing and counselling.
  • To forge effective links with other relevant departments and specialists within the Hospital, CCG, and wider community groups.
  • The post holder will develop new areas of practice with nursing and consultant staff to ensure quality standards are met.
