Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced employment professional to join our Derby Jobs Employment and Skills Hub as a key specialist employment advisor. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support to adults with Learning Disabilities/SEND to maximise their independence via the securing and sustaining of supported internships, work placements or employment.

About the Role

This role is part of a wider City Council strategy to support all residents to improve their lives and to build a more inclusive workforce. The Derby Jobs Employment and Skills Hub aims to provide an inclusive employment support service, connecting people with inclusive opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support to adults with Learning Disabilities/SEND to secure and sustain employment
  • Work with employers to create inclusive job opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and community groups
  • Contribute to the development of the Derby Jobs Employment and Skills Hub

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced employment professional who has a track record of supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities/SEND into employment. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
