**About the Role:**

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Good School in Northumberland.

This is a full-time position that involves supporting Key Stage 2 students with varying levels of Autism.

The successful applicant will work closely with Class Teachers, staff, Parents, Special Needs Leader and Outside Agencies to provide individualised support to three children in Year 4 with Autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide one-to-one and small group support to students with Autism in a classroom setting and during playtime.
  • To have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • To be calm and consistent in approach.
  • To have experience of working with SEN pupils.
  • To be supportive and encouraging in manner, with an ability to inspire trust and motivate the child in their care to integrate and learn through play.
  • To have the ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.
  • To use initiative in meeting the needs of the child and adapting activities and games to support development of independent communication and learning skills.
