Tooling Specialist

Join our team as a Tooling Technician and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our tooling equipment, ensuring that it is safe and functional at all times.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and repair tooling equipment, including machine chests, seal, spray frames, and other equipment.
- Ensure that all equipment is safe and functional before use and after use.
- Report any issues or concerns with tooling equipment to the team leader.
- Carry out maintenance on machine chests, seal, spray frames, and other equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
- Assist with training in tool fitting and preparation when required.
- Set up machines and understand the process in full.
- Complete the first drop sample of parts on your tool fit to ensure there are no issues with the tool fit.
- Understand the first off procedure and support the process.
- Prep and de-prep tools, to understand the process and support when required.
- Maintain your machines in line with the machine ownership programme, improving the visual appearance and functionality of your machines.
- Complete all tool fits and insert changes safely and to a high standard within the required timescales.
- Complete any reasonable requests issued by the team leader, including but not limited to, break cover, tech duties, 5S, housekeeping, and repair work.
- Carry out tool maintenance to schedule.
- Ensure all tools are labelled and stored correctly.
- Support the NPI process by inspecting new tooling upon arrival and report any issues.
- Complete tool overhauls and services, e.g. re-securing cavities, re-drilling and re-tapping damaged or stripped bolts, and adding core vents etc.
- Maintain all equipment, including gun refurbishment, receiver frames, spray frames, Enstats, bead pipes, airlines, and backloading frames.
- Conduct monthly stock checks and advise of any shortages.
- Assist with training in tool prep when required.
