About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our Capital, Estates and Facilities Management (CEFM) team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe management of our capital estates and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head of Estates Safety, Compliance & Resilience in ensuring the safe management of our capital estates and facilities.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to our divisions, corporate directorates, governance groups, senior managers, estates, and contractors.
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, and incident investigations to identify and mitigate potential health and safety risks.
  • Provide training and coaching to staff on health and safety matters, including the development of policies, procedures, and guidance documents.
Requirements
  • Substantial relevant experience of working in a health and safety role at a large or complex organization.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Postgraduate level education or equivalent experience in health and safety.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
