Council Tax Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Council Tax Support Specialist to join our Revenues Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance in ensuring Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates & Sundry Income is maximised. You will work closely with the Senior Revenues Billing & Collection Officer to apply and monitor changes in Revenues status, including property bands, rateable values, empty properties, discounts, exemptions and reliefs as required.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of legislation and the Council's policies and procedures. We estimate the salary for this role to be around £32,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and assistance in ensuring Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates & Sundry Income is maximised
  • Work closely with the Senior Revenues Billing & Collection Officer to apply and monitor changes in Revenues status
  • Ensure that all Revenue accounts are administered in line with legislation and the Council's policies and procedures


Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of legislation and the Council's policies and procedures
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure
