Credit Controller Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join our team at The Channel Recruiter Ltd. As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for the processing of credit stopped orders, ensuring timely payments are made, and processing incoming funds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and collect overdue debts and debts falling due, ensuring future payments are made to terms.
- Document and progress customer queries, liaising with the customer services department/sales to ensure queries are resolved.
- Process and vet credit stopped orders, minimising complaints from sales and customers, and approving credit stopped orders for release same day.
- Maximise sales while ensuring no exposure to the company on uninsured debt, maintaining a close working relationship with sales and customers.
- Identify alternative options for extending credit.
- Maintain the sales ledger effectively, ensuring unallocated cash figures are at a minimum, credit notes are allocated to invoices where appropriate, and correct use of journals and discounts applied.
- Monitor payment performance of existing customers and advise the credit manager of cases where payment performance has significantly deteriorated.
Requirements:
- Experience of chasing outstanding debt, working well under pressure, and being methodical and applying logic to tasks and decision making.
- Excellent Excel skills and strong telephone skills, with experience of dealing with customers over the phone.
