Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer to join our team at AM Recruitment Ltd. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, calibration, fault finding, and repair or replacement of components and equipment on all jobs and specialist projects allotted to you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake installation, commissioning, servicing, calibration, fault finding, and repair or replacement of components and equipment on all jobs and specialist projects allotted to you.
  • Carry out routine maintenance of equipment and systems included in the periodic service contracts allotted to you efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Use initiative to resolve technical and application problems on site with minimum disruption to the client.
  • Develop skills and knowledge beyond your basic trade and to service and repair equipment which falls within the scope of the job as directed by the Service Manager and for which training has or is being given as necessary.
  • Gain a working knowledge of the equipment manufactured, supplied, and supported by the company, including some third-party equipment, and develop a basic understanding of the applications they are used in.
  • Have a good knowledge of administrative procedures associated with the job, use the company-provided tools and systems, and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Produce accurate and informative service reports on the completion of each job, detailing what work was done, and any recommendations or further work that requires to be done.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner, and in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Requisition spares and replacement parts from the office/stores and to maintain stock in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Acquire a working knowledge in the use of specialist tools and test equipment relating to the job, and to keep secure and in good working order all Company equipment allocated to you.
  • Actively promote the Company's products and services, feeding back sales leads to the office.
  • Maintain and project a high-quality Company image at all times and to confirm to the levels of integrity necessary when working in the customer's premises.
  • Where appropriate, and as approved by the Service Manager, assist with the formal on-site training of Trainees.
  • Provide technical expertise in resolving site problems as and when required.
  • Attend training courses as directed by the Service Manager.
  • Be available to work out with normal working hours as and when required, including at weekends, and to participate in the Company's out of hours emergency work, on-call rota, system.
  • Be able and prepared to take on short-term assignments anywhere in the UK, with reasonable notice.
  • Contribute to achieving Company strategies, commitments, and objectives, The Service Team's KPIs and targets, and any personal objectives that may be assigned.
  • Be responsible for their own health and safety and the health and safety of others that may be affected through their actions or omissions.
  • Pay particular attention to and comply with the Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, Security, and Site policies, rules, and instructions as issued by the Company, and those of the Company's clients.
  • Report to management all accidents, incidents, near misses, or malpractice, and assist with the investigation and corrective actions.
  • Be responsible for the allocated Company vehicle and to ensure that it is roadworthy and the maintenance and cleanliness conform to statutory regulations and Company requirements.

Requirements:

  • Post holder must hold a full valid Driving licence for use in the UK.
  • Must be able to travel within region with occasional stays overnight as required.
