About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Investment Manager to join our Debt Fund team in Manchester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the investment lifecycle, from origination to repayment, and ensuring the timely receipt of management accounts and ongoing compliance with loan agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the regular information flow from clients and analyze financial and commercial aspects, including identifying deteriorating risk trends and recommending appropriate provisions.
  • Ensure timely receipt of management accounts, hold regular client meetings, and ensure ongoing compliance with loan agreements for each portfolio company.
  • Critique and challenge business plans, due diligence, and ad hoc financial information as part of client dialogue.
  • Post-investment monitoring of loan investments, including exit management.
  • Make regular reports and reviews to the Portfolio Director or Fund Principal and contribute to investor reporting requirements as appropriate.
  • Ensure all regulatory and compliance matters are acted upon.
  • Keep the portfolio risk management and CRM system regularly updated.
  • Support internal and external audits together with the annual financial audit process.
Requirements
  • Experience working in SME/Corporate finance environment and strong understanding of business funding.
  • Debt transaction and loan assessment experience ideally within a banking or similar corporate finance environment is preferred.
  • Possess the necessary credit skills to analyze businesses and loan requests to identify key issues and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Strong relationship skills, including the ability to convey and explain information coherently in both oral and written formats.
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of tasks.
  • Flexibility to travel as required to other offices and/or events in the NW region.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ambitious and hard-working self-starter.
  • Out-going and sociable.
