Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Community Services team in West Kent. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with a learning disability to access and participate in their local community.

Working from various hubs within the locality, you will provide person-centered support to service users, helping them to plan and achieve outcome-focused sessions. This role requires a full UK driving license, and you will be expected to travel across the locality to cover where needed.

As a Support Worker, you will assist in meeting the needs and aspirations of people with a learning disability and/or a physical disability. You will provide encouragement, support, and assistance, promoting their social inclusion and promoting their rights and choices under the supervision and direction of a senior member of staff.

Relevant experience of care and support of other individuals, including within the public, private, or voluntary sectors in the care of adults, working with people with learning disabilities, is essential. You will also need to have an awareness of the needs of people with learning disabilities with challenging behavior, autism, epilepsy, and other disabilities.

This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. We offer a range of benefits and rewards, including the Cycle 2 Work Scheme, to support our employees in their personal and professional development.

This is a 22.5 hours post with set days and hours every week, although these may be subject to change to support business needs.
