Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Thomas Search is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team in Larkhill, Wiltshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the commercial aspects of our Capital Projects from pre-construction activities to final accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on commercial aspects of projects, including cost planning, estimating, and contract administration.
  • Support the Commercial Team in maintaining robust cost and revenue forecasts.
  • Visit sites and carry out surveys to assist the Pre-construction Team in preparing schedules, specifications, and scopes of works.
  • Liaise with the Procurement Team through the tender process and assist in analyzing tender submissions and preparing Joint Recommendations.
  • Produce cost plans, estimates, and formal client submissions for projects.
  • Provide necessary information to Central Commercial and Finance Teams.
  • Review Supply Chain quotations and variations to ensure value for money.
  • Administer project variations/instructions and manage contingency and risk budgets.
  • Administer Supply Chain orders and payments in a timely manner.
  • Ensure projects are commercially managed in full compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the Commercial Team.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a Building Contractor, preferably in PFI and/or public sector service FM contracts.
  • Educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying and have membership of a relevant professional body, such as RICS.
  • Good competency in using Microsoft Office software and an aptitude to learn bespoke systems.
  • Commercial awareness across all business operations coupled with financial acumen.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to produce consistent high-quality work within acceptable timescales.
  • Full UK driving licence.
