Quantity Surveyor Opportunity at J. Murphy & Sons Ltd

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our award-winning Energy team in Leeds. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering commercial excellence on Power, Transmission & Distribution projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare internal commercial reports and other documentation as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of valuations, applications for payment, and cost reports to clients.
  • Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules, and administer subcontractor/supplier accounts.
  • Undertake contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering.
  • Use cost allocation/coding that satisfies both internal and external requirements.
  • Measure quantities in accordance with standard methods of measurement.
  • Assist in the preparation of project final accounts.
Requirements:
  • HND/Degree qualification in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in a commercial role, such as Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor.
  • Registered with RICS/ICES and working towards chartership.
  • Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (NEC) and Standard Methods of Measurement.
