Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Digital Video Editor to join our remote production team on a freelance basis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for physics, having worked in the science space. They should have experience in creating high-quality digital video / documentary content, and proficiency in video editing software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Edit high-quality videos that incorporate live action and animation footage, utilising video editing software and collaborating with animators
  • Work closely with writers and researchers to ensure all video content is accurate, informative and engaging
  • Sourcing and integrating third party footage to the edit
  • Ensure that the channels visual language and editing style built over the last decade is continued within all future edits
  • Manage and organise video footage and all final deliverables as per our delivery specifications

Requirements:
  • A passion for physics and science with the ability to communicate complex concepts to a broad audience; previous experience working with science material is a must
  • 3+ years of experience in video editing and accompanying showreel, with an emphasis on digital content creation and experience with YouTube
  • Advanced proficiency in video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and other related software
  • A strong understanding of YouTube and other social media platforms and how to optimise content for those platforms
  • Experience with self-shooting or working as part of a small camera crew is a big plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
