About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional PhD Student in Software Modelling and AI to join our team at The University of Edinburgh. As a researcher in AI Computing Architectures, you will contribute to the development of innovative software solutions for Large Language Models (LLMs) on unconventional hardware architectures.

Your primary responsibilities will include designing and implementing Python-based libraries for training and inference on non-standard computing platforms. These libraries will be integrated with popular frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow to enable efficient AI model training and deployment.

  • Pursuing or holding a Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.

This role offers a competitive salary of £28,000-£38,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience. You will also have access to ongoing training and development opportunities.
