The High Speed Rail London Tunnels Contract is a significant project that requires a Town Planning Manager to ensure the delivery of all necessary statutory town planning consents. This role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary service team, reporting to the Consents & Engagement Area Lead, and coordinating with statutory undertakers throughout the design, consenting, and construction of the works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Being the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for all town planning consent matters within an assigned delivery area.
  • Managing and monitoring the status of Town Planning Consent requirements to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Providing specialist town planning advice to the construction delivery team and ensuring compatibility with Town Planning Consents during the design and construction phases.
  • Updating the project Consents Register and notifying leadership teams of any breaches or potential disputes with Third Parties.

This role requires a strong understanding of town planning processes and procedures, as well as excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in identifying, securing, discharging, and complying with Town Planning Consents, and be able to work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver benefits for all parties.
