About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SENDCO to join our team at Shires Stretton School, a specialist secondary school catering for autistic young people and those with associated needs. As a SENDCO, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our students receive high-quality support and education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with Parents and Carers

Develop and maintain effective relationships with parents and carers to ensure that their child's needs are met and that they are fully informed about their child's progress.

Operational Management of SEND Policy

Have day-to-day responsibility for the operation of the SEND policy, ensuring that it is implemented effectively and that students with SEND receive the support they need.

Co-ordination of Provision

Coordinate specific provision made to support students with SEND, including the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).

Review and Evaluation

Regularly review and evaluate the breadth and impact of the SEND support provided by the school, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these.

Collaboration with External Agencies

Work closely with external agencies, including the local authority and its support services, to ensure that students with SEND receive the support they need.

Transition Planning

Develop and implement transition plans to ensure that students with SEND are well-prepared for their next stage of education or employment.
