Senior Design Engineer Role at Go To Outsourcing


The Senior Design Engineer will play a key role in the development of our lighting products, working closely with the management team to identify product needs and design new luminaires from concept to completion.



  • Product Design and Development: The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing new lighting products, including the creation of CAD drawings, bills of materials, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards: A strong understanding of current industry standards and approvals is essential for this role.
  • Value Engineering and Liaison: The Senior Design Engineer will also be responsible for value engineering existing products and liaising with suppliers to introduce the latest technologies within the business.
  • Manufacturing and Sales Support: The role will also involve providing manufacturing and sales support, working closely with the production team to ensure timely delivery of products.

Requirements


The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering design role, preferably in the lighting industry. A strong understanding of Solidworks 3D CAD is essential, and knowledge of Relux Lighting Design software would be an advantage.



  • Education and Qualifications: Ideally educated to minimum HND/HNC standard in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: The successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present designs and solutions directly to customers.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: A strong ability to work effectively in a team environment and to be flexible with working hours is essential.
