Job Title: Dermatology Consultant

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the existing dermatology team in a rural setting, providing high-quality services to a diverse population. The purpose of this post is to ensure the highest standard of care is delivered to the local community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a comprehensive dermatology service to hospitals within the region, working across different sites as required.
  • Coordinate departmental cover for dermatology by managing leave with colleagues.
  • Teach medical students, junior doctors, nursing staff, and General Practitioners.
  • Take an active part in the Postgraduate Medical Education programme.
  • Attend dermatology team meetings and contribute to the management and development of the clinical service.
Person Specification:
  • On GMC Specialist Register
  • MRCP(UK) or equivalent medical experience
  • Experience and understanding of NHS practice
Special Knowledge / Abilities and/or Experience:
  • Special area of interest and expertise within Dermatology, including skin surgery
  • Special interest in surgery, paediatrics, or biological therapies
Person Skills / Qualities:
  • Ability to teach trainees and general practitioners
Interests and Motivation to the Job:
  • Ability to assist in the development of the service
Academic Achievement / Research Publication:
  • Participation in research
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals
Other Skills:
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of resource management and clinical audit
