Job Description

This is a key post in the Integrated Community Learning Disability Team at East Lothian Council, where you will play a vital role in assessing and managing adults with Learning Disabilities.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced social worker to join our team, who will have a robust approach to fulfilling social work requirements within the legislative framework. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate creativity in their approach to supporting people and local communities to achieve their identified outcomes.

The successful candidate will have individual social work responsibility for a case load and will participate in a range of social work related duties and roles, including assessment, case management and review of adults with LD, young people transitioning to Adult Services from school, Guardianship reviews and statutory Adult Support and Protection work.

Working Arrangements

We offer flexible working arrangements, including homeworking or hybrid working options, subject to a trial period and in accordance with East Lothian Council's Home Working and Worksmart Policies.

Requirements
  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
  • Experience of working with adults with Learning Disabilities
Benefits

This is a permanent full-time position offering a competitive salary of £21,500 - £23,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, annual leave entitlement and career development opportunities.
